We Don’t Need No Education
In this photo series, I explore the theme of conformity in the education system. The rigid and outdated societal norms of the Victorian era are mirrored in today’s mainstream education system, which too often prioritizes compliance over creativity and critical thinking. Some argue that the education system is designed to produce compliant and obedient citizens who are more likely to follow rules and conform to societal norms, rather than thinking creatively, expressing themselves in unique ways, questioning authority, or challenging the status quo. Through this visual commentary, I aim to spark a dialogue about the need for a more progressive and individualized approach to education.
Synthetica: The Intersection of Progress and Tradition
This photo series, made using AI technologies and Photoshop, explores the theme of the convergence of technology past and present. The images depict scenes and situations where robots / cyborgs, representing the future, interact with Victorians, representing the past. The Victorian era was a time of rapid technological advancements, particularly in the fields of transportation, communication, and industry. The series aims to spark a dialogue about the rapid evolution of technology and its impact on society. It also highlights the idea that technology is not limited to a specific era, but instead is an ever-present force that is constantly shaping and reshaping our world. Through this visual commentary, I hope to inspire a deeper understanding of how technology is changing our world and how we can shape it for the better.
